Los Angeles was hit by an earthquake tipping magnitude 5.4 Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 11:42:15 AM at epicenter. This event was caught on tape/video by some people. No serious injuries or damage to property was reported. It was followed in the next few hours by more than two dozen aftershocks, the largest measuring 3.6, and geologists said there was a small chance it could be a foreshock to a larger earthquake still to come.

If you don’t believe that giant sea scorpions larger than a human being existed millions of years ago, then this is the time to believe in such phenomenon. Giant sea scorpions really existed and their fossils have been found.

According to the Science Daily, the discovery of a giant fossilised claw from an ancient sea scorpion indicates that when alive it would have been about two and a half meters long, much taller than the average man.

Good news for everyone following up on the Ces Drilon Kidnapping in Sulu.  Today, Cecilia “Ces” Drilon, her cameraman and a university professor accompanying them walked out of the forest where they had been held for nine days shortly before midnight, regional police commander Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao told reporters.

The Associated Press (AP) reported that beer makers are turning to viral advertisements more and more these days due to the popularity and effectiveness of viral marketing and/or advertisement especially on the internet and television.

In ST. LOUIS, the AP claims that the Beer company Anheuser-Busch is generating lots of buzz with an ad equal parts bawdy and hilarious, but you won’t see it on television, and it barely mentions the beer it’s advertising.

News about an uncontacted tribe in Brazil is making big waves in the academic and scientific communites worldwide. Members of an unknown Amazon Basin tribe and their dwellings are seen during a flight over the Brazilian state of Acre along the border with Peru in this May, 2008 photo distributed by FUNAI, the government agency for the protection of indigenous peoples. Survival International estimates that there are over 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, and says that uncontacted tribes in the region are under increasing threat from illegal logging over the border in Peru.

This just in from the GMA 7 24 Oras News and website.  The Associated Press (AP) stated that a Vietnamese girl with a 16-pound (7.3-kilogram) facial tumor is in Miami awaiting surgery to restore her ability to eat and speak.
