The movie Slumdog Millionaire was nominated in the 81st Oscar Awards. Slumdog Millionaire was set and filmed in the outskirts of India. The Slumdog Millionaire won Oscar Best Picture award. The film involves a young man and his family who lives in the slum areas of Mumbai, India seeking for greener pasture. In the film, Slumdog Millionaire, the young man appears in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the Hindi version. Dayo is an animated movie solely made by Filipinos (Pinoys). It is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival which runs from December 25, 2008 to January 7, 2009. Dayo, just like Urduja is a Filipino animated movie created mostly by Pinoys and dubbed in Filipino. However, Dayo is an animated movie which employed pure CGI in the process of creation. Urduja, on the other hand, used conventional drawings and computer technology (hybrid).

Dayo’s storyline goes like this:
“Dreamy-eyed Buboy (Aguas) embarks on an adventure to the enchanted world of Elementalia with vegan manananggal Anna (Legaspi) as guide. His goal is to save his grandparents (Villa, Trinidad) who were kidnapped by a disgruntled tree spirit.”
Final mixing and mastering for this animated flick were done in Technicolor, a UK firm with an office in Thailand. The first film fest entry to make use of tradigital animation (traditional and digital combined) and Dolby 7.1 sound, it also boasts a theme song (“Lipad”) recorded by international singer-actress Lea Salonga.

I’ve seen this today on TV (The Buzz) the news about Joey De Leon and Willie Revillame’s reconciliation during the Supremo awards where he received the first-ever Supremo awards which is given by the Philippine Star to accomplished TV personalities. The event was named “Supreme to the Extreme Awards”.
Joey De Leon has been in Philippine showbiz for more than 30 years serving in different capacities as actor, talk show host, radio announcer and many more. He got the highest honor for his contributions to the Philippine showbiz industry for more than 3 decades. Willie Revillame, on the other hand, won the Televisionary Award.
