I have decided to create new sites (five websites actually). The niches of these sites vary a bit from each other but the general objective for all is the same – education. In building a website or a weblog, one has to consider his objectives before even posting articles. In my humble opinion as a writer/blogger/online publisher (whatever you call it), I always keep in mind the kind and amount of information I can share with my audience.

For your appreciation, may I present to you my new sites and their brief descriptions:

Math and Math Applications – articles about the importance of mathematics in daily life and its applications in different fields of science.

Online Math Resource – articles about mathematicians, math games, math theories and free math tutorials on how to solve word problems in different areas of math.

Simple Business Ideas – simple business ideas and solutions for Pinoy in the Philippines with focus on small and medium enterprises.

Network of Ideas – practically a mixed bag of ideas but with focus on research and thesis writing.

Information, Facts and Trivias – a site about facts and trivias about generic drugs, food recipes, health and other things.

Another tip I could give to the readers of this article who wish to build new sites is that, keep your foucs. Most times, it’s better to write about articles revolving around one general theme unless of course you want to build a personal site discussing things that you find interesting (which may be varied and unrelated). :-)

In addition, if these sites can generate some money from blog advertising or Google adsense, the money will be used to finance some researches I’m conducting here in Ilocos Norte. I have no funding from the government or the private sector that is why I need to generate some income online. Businesses in my province are not doing so well.

One of the researches I wish I could start (financial constraints and manpower are the biggest problems) is the discovery of an alternative fuel source from local materials found in Ilocos Norte. I hope I can begin the research on the first quarter of 2009.

The Philippines is a country where running and maintaining a business is difficult. If you are a businessman here and running short of capital, then it is inevitable to get a loan. But from where? From banks? Relatives?

On the other hand, it’s not only here in the Philippines that finances are tight but also in other parts of the globe. This is partly because of the increasing prices of crude oil in the global market.

Don’t be shocked with the number of out-of-school youths in the Philippines. This does not mean total enrollments are dropping. In fact, enrollments have been increasing by an average of 0.98 percent every year, data from the education department’s research and statistics division shows.

Likewise, to some extent, the drop can be explained by changes in the way the education department computes participation rates.

In my last update of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stand on gay marriage, the Californian governor did not allow gay or same-sex marriage in his state. However, times have changed and the clamor for same-sex marriage in one of the most populated states of US have grown from concerned individuals, particularly gays and lesbians.
