Before the 24th of January 2009, certain preliminary competitions in Miss America 2009 were held by groups. The 52 Young ladies were divided into three groups, namely: MU Group, Alpha Group and Sigma Group. The Miss America 2009 beauty pageant is a much-anticipated event in the US. According to wikipedia.org, Miss America 2009, the 84th Miss America pageant will held at the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada on January 24, 2009.

The pageant will broadcast live on TLC from the Theatre for the Performing Arts at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, only the fourth time that the pageant has been held outside Atlantic City, New Jersey.
