American Idol Season 7 Update: Elimination Results - The pretty rocker, Carly Smithson, was eliminated from the American Idol 2008 today, April 23. She sang Jesus Christ Superstar with a bang. Unluckily, the voters didn’t give her the chance to show more of her explosive performance. The results of the voting this week (38 million plus) was not favorable to Carly Smithson despite her great performance.

The American Idol voted off Kristy Lee Cook on April 16, leaving the Top 6 lonely because of the friendship and bonding they have developed with each other. The Top 6 American Idol contestants remaining are Jason Castro, Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado, David Cook, David Archuleta and Brooke White.
