It seems that this year (2008) is a good year for Pinoy OFWs. This is because more job opportunities await Filipino workers including nurses and nursing graduates in Canada and the United Kingdom. A group of Canadian employers expressed their intention to hire more Pinoy OFWs. Recruitment will be done through licensed recruitment agencies and jobseekers will pay no placement fee.

Many Filipinos, especially Nurses, want to work and live in Canada. Well, here’s a good news from workabroad.ph which is worth reposting here. This is to guide Filipino workers who need a job abroad especially in Canada.

Another Canadian province, Nova Scotia is suffering from labor shortage and looking at the Philippines to solve their employment problems. However, just like with British Columbia Saskatchewan, appropriate law and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Nova Scotia and the Philippines must first be enacted before the recruitment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) begins.

The Philippines produce more than 10,000 nursing graduates per year. As such, employment becomes a problem to this ever-growing number of nursing graduates. Registered Nurses (RN’s) themselves have so much difficulty finding decent jobs in the Philippines and so, the best possible way to earn for them is to go abroad.
