Miss USA 2009 first runner up – Miss California Carrie Prejean lost the crown for being honest. Carrie Prejean almost reached the top. Miss California Carrie Prejean was just about an inch away in winning the crown of Miss USA 2009. Aside from Miss USA 2009 Top 10, there were also two Miss USA 2009 candidates who received special awards. These two Miss USA 2009 special awards chose Miss Photogenic and Miss Congeniality. The special award of Miss Congeniality was won by Miss Wyoming Cynthia Pate. While Miss Photogenic was taken by Miss West Virginia Jessi Pierson. Kristen Dalton successfully garnered the highest scores in swimsuit and evening gown competition among the Miss USA 2009 Top 10. Miss USA 2009 is done and has presented its crowned winner. The Miss USA 2009 Winner is Kristen Dalton (Miss North Carolina USA 2009). This is the 58th Miss USA beauty pageant and Kristen Dalton got the title. The Miss America 2009 beauty pageant is a much-anticipated event in the US. According to wikipedia.org, Miss America 2009, the 84th Miss America pageant will held at the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada on January 24, 2009.
The pageant will broadcast live on TLC from the Theatre for the Performing Arts at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, only the fourth time that the pageant has been held outside Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This is a follow-up to my previous article titled “Miss Earth 2008 Winners: Miss Philippines Earth Karla Paula Henry Wins Title“. Let’s call this brief post as Ms. Earth 2008 update.
The recently concluded Ms. Earth 2008 stirred so much buzz in the blogosphere and outside it. Ms. Earth 2008 winners include the following:
- Ms. Tanzania, Miriam Odemba was Ms. Earth Air (1st runner-up)
- Ms. Mexico, Abigail Elizalde was Ms. Earth Water (2nd runner-up)
- Ms. Brazil Tatiane Alves won Ms. Earth Fire (3rd runner-up)
Congratulations to all the Ms. Earth 2008 winners especially to Ms. Earth Philippines 2008, Ms. Karla Paula Henry, who bagged the grand title Ms. Earth 2008. Karla Paula Henry really deserves the victory in my view. She’s talented, beautiful and very intelligent. She deserves all the glory of the victory.

Miss Earth 2008 winner Karla Paula Henry of the Philippines
Karla Paula Henry (Miss Philippines Earth 2008) won the Miss Earth 2008 Beauty Pageant last night. Karla Paula Henry won the Miss Philippines Earth 2008 in May this year and competed against the world’s most beautiful women. Other Miss Earth 2008 final 8 were: Spain, Brazil, Tanzania, Philippines, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico and Switzerland.
Winners of the Miss Earth 2008 special awards were: Miss Photogenic – Karla Paula Henry (Miss Philippines Earth 2008); Best in National Costume - Shassia Ubillús (Ms Panama); Best in Swimsuit - Ms Mexico. Best in Long Gown - Daniela Torrealba (Miss Venezuela). Best in Talent - Ms Australia; and Miss Friendship – Andrea Carolina León (Miss Ecuador).
I will update this Miss Earth 2008 article later when I have obtained some photos of the prestigious event
