Dayo is an animated movie solely made by Filipinos (Pinoys). It is an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival which runs from December 25, 2008 to January 7, 2009. Dayo, just like Urduja is a Filipino animated movie created mostly by Pinoys and dubbed in Filipino. However, Dayo is an animated movie which employed pure CGI in the process of creation. Urduja, on the other hand, used conventional drawings and computer technology (hybrid).

With the voices of Nash Aguas, Katrina “Hopia” Legaspi, Michael V., Pokwang, Johnny Delgado, Laurice Guillen, Nova Villa, Peque Gallaga, Noel Trinidad Directed by Robert Quilao

Dayo’s storyline goes like this:

“Dreamy-eyed Buboy (Aguas) embarks on an adventure to the enchanted world of Elementalia with vegan manananggal Anna (Legaspi) as guide. His goal is to save his grandparents (Villa, Trinidad) who were kidnapped by a disgruntled tree spirit.”

Final mixing and mastering for this animated flick were done in Technicolor, a UK firm with an office in Thailand. It’s quite different from earlier Pinoy-made cartoons like Panday and Captain Barbel.
