My favorite female player, Maria Sharapova, was eliminated from the Wimbledon 2008 Championships. I just saw it on TV and I was disappointed. She was eliminated by a player ranked 154 in the world – Alla Kudryavtseva, another Russian.
Sharapova committed 8 or 9 double faults and she seemed to be out of rhythm in the later part of the game. Maybe she was under too much pressure. But it’s no excuse. This young lady will be back and I think it will be soon. The US Open may be her chance to regain the lost glory at Wimbledon. 
Her defeat to Kudryavtseva was only in the second round of the competition.
