Today is the schedule of the automated elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). After a series of debates between lawmakers in the Philippine Congress and Senate (as to the postponement of the election), the election day has finally come and the issue has obviously been resolved (well, at least inside the halls of Congress and Senate).

Where will this lead us, Filipinos? First, in my view, we will be able to test the machines to be used in the automted elections, which are also meant to be used in the 2010 Presidential election. Second, We will be able to determine how people in the ARMM will take the results of the election. Will there be violence? We’ll soon find out. Personally, I don’t want to see any violence in that area.  The Philippines has had enough of election-related violence. It’s time for peace to reign. Let’s give peace a chance and let’s start with the ARMM elections. :-)
