Here we are, in the era of watching “HOUSE” “ER” “Grey’s Anatomy” – I am puked at how they reacted. What the heck was that doctor thinking? His act ( spraying it right away) signals everyone to join in the frenzy and that it was okay to laugh at the patient. They were still in a jovial mode siguro kay Jan 2 pa man. Liwas sa New Year.

This is really embarrassing and a disgrace to the health care community! Especially to me – a nursing graduate!

I don’t think the issue here is the “spread of the video” per se it is the act itself of capturing the operation in video AND geering and making fun of the sedated patient.

I believe all people present in that operating room should be sued for malpractice! I mean, no one had the nerve to tell the student taking the video not to take the video? Why pin it on the student?

Very well said. Ganun din ang punto ko sa write-up na to. Even doctors blogging about this topic call this “malpractice”. I know dahil malawak ang network naming mga bloggers. We have “hidden” forums where we discuss issues about social processes and current events (not just about blogging).

Sa medical malpractice, hindi lang legal or technical ang basehan. Meron din moral bases ito. Kako nga sa huling comment ko, let us assume that there is no malpractice (depende sa pagkakaintindi ng husgado sa batas natin) can we just let the doctor and nurses go unpunished. Just an assumption, ok? Pero with the background that we have in the field of Nursing, based on evidence (i.e., the video), there is CLEARLY malpractice. It is, as you said, “improper, negligent…”. Sa case ni Jan Jan, hindi lang improper at negligent ang mga humawak sa kanya. They are also abusive, unethical and unprofessional. And who would want to be handled or treated by health workers like them di ba?

Sa kultura kasi nating mga Pinoy, bound tayo ng paper and pencil. Black and white mentality ang karamihan sa tin. Meaning, pag wla sa papel, hindi bawal. Kung hindi PALA bawal (dahil wala sa papel), then wlang kaso. I think that’s a funny and stupid argument, don’t you think? Ganun kababaw ang maraming Pinoy kanya hanggang ngayon napapabayaan ang mga pasyente sa ospital at hindi ganong naaatensyonan ang kalusugan nating mga pinoy? Bakit? Kasi hindi naman pala malpractice ang babuyin mo ang pasyente mo sa operating room tapos ipagkalat mo ang video. Kahit na di mo ipagkalat ang video, yung pambababoy mo na lang sa pasyente mo, yung pagkutya at pagtawa mo sa case nya eh ewan ko na lang kung hindi pa malpractice na matatawag yun, technically or otherwise.

By the way, I forgot to ask you. Have you seen the video? Kung nakita mo yung video nang buo I doubt if you will disagree with me like that. Kaming nagba-blog about this topic we either did not upload or remove the video from our sites to protect the patient. If you want to see the video, search the internet for sites which did not remove it. As a friendly suggestion, ask a lawyer to watch it with you as we did in my blogging community.

Simple lang naman ang meaning ng Malpractice sa dictionary, eto “any improper, negligent practice; misconduct or misuse.”

Meaning, ang sinasaklaw nito ay hindi lang negligence sa part ng doctor or nurse. The word “improper” is also considered malpractice.

Like OTS said, “everything the procedure done were correct (so no malpractice)”, mababaw pala ang pagkakaintindi mo ng malpractice Ots. If you are working in a medical field, then I pity you. Kindly read and understand the meaning before commenting. You don’t know nothing about it. I swear.

masyado ka yatang attached sa topic na to. napansin ko lang kaibigan. for me still this is malpractice. my stand still holds true dahil ang concern ko is on the patient’s welfare. for your info, i’m a nursing researcher, my wife is a nurse and i have two doctor-cousins. pinagusapan na namin to. ang point mo is sobrang babaw. hindi naman ako aso para sabihin mong i’m all bark. maybe you should create you rown forum and place there your points of view, legal and personal. ang reply ko kay allen is somewhat on a personal level. my response to you is somewhat technical. ok let us assume na hindi malpractice ang kaso. let us also assume that you’re right and i was wrong. will that make things any better for other patients who have suffered the same fate at the hands of health workers na hindi tama ang ginawa.

come to think of it, are you looking at the big picture here or you’re just after being right in your claim?

if you are not comfortable in this site, you are welcome to open your own site then try mo kayang i-open din ang topic na to. let’s see how people in the field of caring for the sick would react also.

don’t get too personal. ang pinaguusapan dito eh ang pasyente at hindi ang ego mo o ego ko. kako nga i might be wrong and you could be right. so what? my point is, the culprits get punished for what they did. i’m not contradicting my point and i’m not barking at anyone. you said your piece, i said mine. let the proper forums get to work. ok ba yun? or gagawin nating isyu to between the two of us?
