The Dancing Inmates of Cebu became famous when they popularized group dancing on jail grounds via “Thriller” then followed by “Soulja Boys”.  This time, the Dancing inmates of Cebu is burning Youtube charts with their latest performance to the tune of “I Need a Hero”.  If I’m not mistaken, this is the Dancing Inmates’ third dance hit.

The Dancing Inmates have been featured a couple of times on Fox News and CNN and their popularity stemmed not from individual charisma but from group effort.  According to them, dancing is a good way to foster brotherhood and camaraderie.  It has many benefits aside from the fact that they can exercise and build healthier bodies, dancing enables them to express themselves in a non-violent way.

Watch the Youtube video of  the Dancing Inmates of Cebu in their performance of “I Need a hero” which is their tribute to all heroes. See for yourself if they really deserve international recognition with their act.  For me, I have no doubt in my mind that they deserve every bit of respect.  They are inmates but they are productive and peaceful, and that makes them special.
