The movie Slumdog Millionaire was nominated in the 81st Oscar Awards. Slumdog Millionaire was set and filmed in the outskirts of India. The Slumdog Millionaire won Oscar Best Picture award. The film involves a young man and his family who lives in the slum areas of Mumbai, India seeking for greener pasture. In the film, Slumdog Millionaire, the young man appears in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, the Hindi version. The commercial prospects of the film were doubted but it was a box office and eventually, Slumdog Millionaire won Oscar Best Picture.
Slumdog Millionaire won Oscar Best Picture which was one of its nominations in the Academy Awards. Slumdog Millionaire was nominated in 10 categories of the Academy Awards and won 8 Oscar Awards including Oscar Best Picture. Some Hindus criticized the film’s portrayal of Hinduism. Controversial as it was, the buzz has somehow helped because Slumdog Milionaire won Oscar Best Picture.
