Christian Bale (Batman) Arrested for Assaulting His Mom and Sister

Before the successful opening week of “The Dark Knight”, Christian Bale, the lead star got arrested for assault. Acccording to a report from The Australian News website (http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au), police sources quoted by the Press Association news agency said that the 34-year-old was detained on suspicion of assault, which is alleged to have happened in a suite at London’s plush Dorchester Hotel on Sunday.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said a 34-year-old man was arrested after turning up at a police station and was being questioned. They refused to divulge his identity, in line with force policy.

Despite the allegations, police allowed Bale to attend the British premiere of The Dark Knight, in which he stars alongside the late Australian actor Heath Ledger.

Britain’s The Sun newspaper said Bale’s mother, Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, contacted police in Hampshire, where they live, on Monday to lodge a complaint.

Defending the decision to let Bale attend the premiere, a source told the newspaper: “It would have been wrong to wreck the premiere over a complaint which we do not know yet is founded in truth. Mr Bale will be contacted at the earliest opportunity and be asked to provide an account of what happened.”
