Actor Morgan Freeman Seriously Injured in a Car Accident

News has it that one of my favorite Hollywood actors, Morgan Freeman, met a car accident and his condition is critical.

According to CBCNews.ca,

Oscar-winning actor Morgan Freeman, currently starring in the Batman movie The Dark Knight, has been injured in car accident in Mississippi and is in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Regional Medical Center spokeswoman Kathy Stringer says Freeman is in serious condition. A local television station is reporting that the actor is awake and talking.

The hospital is an acute-care teaching facility that serves patients within 250 km of Memphis.

The Los Angeles Times reports the 71-year-old actor was in a car accident around 11:30 p.m. CT Sunday, just north of Ruleville, Miss.

The report says Freeman was airlifted from the crash scene.

Ashley Norris, manager of the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale that is owned by Freeman, confirmed the actor was in an accident. Norris said she had no other details.

Freeman and his wife, Myrna, live on a ranch near Charleston, Miss., not far from the accident location.

The actor captured an Academy Award in 2004 for his supporting role in Million Dollar Baby and earned a Golden Globe trophy for best actor for the 1990 film Driving Miss Daisy.

In addition, Morgan Freeman also played God in Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. As a fan, I hope Morgan Freeman gets better in due time.

Yeah, I love this guy. Morgan Freeman is really a good actor. His voice is also modulated which makes him very effective in his roles.

At that age and that accident is not combination… It critical or fatal combination!

Yeah, the combination is not good considering Morgan Freeman’s age. I hope he survives this tragic event.
