Today is the schedule of the automated elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). After a series of debates between lawmakers in the Philippine Congress and Senate (as to the postponement of the election), the election day has finally come and the issue has obviously been resolved (well, at least inside the halls of Congress and Senate).

Whoever said that the Philippines is enjoying great economic rewards is lying. Philippine unemployment rate rose once more in April of 2008, according to a report published by AFP last month.

Don’t be shocked with the number of out-of-school youths in the Philippines. This does not mean total enrollments are dropping. In fact, enrollments have been increasing by an average of 0.98 percent every year, data from the education department’s research and statistics division shows.
Likewise, to some extent, the drop can be explained by changes in the way the education department computes participation rates.

In my last update of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stand on gay marriage, the Californian governor did not allow gay or same-sex marriage in his state. However, times have changed and the clamor for same-sex marriage in one of the most populated states of US have grown from concerned individuals, particularly gays and lesbians.
