Last night was American Idol Final 7’s performance night. The theme for these week is on movies and music. Lil Rounds chose the song The Rose from the same titled soundtrack. The Rose song is from the 1979 film entitled The Rose starring Bette Midler. The Rose is a pop song originally performed by Bette Midler and written by Amanda McBroom. Lil Rounds’ The Rose performance totally fitted her voice and personality. Lil Rounds turned The Rose from a pop song to a soulful one. Lil Rounds’ The Rose performance was more like a hymn full of heart. American Idol mentor – Quentin Tarantino even said that Lil Rounds transformed The Rose into a gospel song. Her performance for me was a beautiful one but somehow, Simon still cannot see the star in her.
