They are also both controversial of being eradicated from the show (American Idol Season 7) after performing well. Michael Johns have been eliminated too soon as he did not rank much in American Idol voting. So was with Carly Smithson, who made her best performance in American Idol Season 7, yet she has to step out because of low votes. Michael Johns’ elimination was quite unfair. Even Paula Abdul – American Idol judge, said that America might have made a mistake of not voting for Michael Johns. In the case of Carly Smithson, she was able to impress Simon Cowell – American Idol critic judge, for rendering ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at her best but America did not vote for her. (I wish Jason Castro have been eliminated first instead of Michael Johns and Carly Smithson. He was simply charming but not much of a talent.)
However, both Michael Johns and Carly Smithson has been roaming around performing. Michael Johns has tours not only around America but world tours as well. While Carly Smithson makes concert tours, too. In fact, Michael Johns and Carly Smithson performs together at some occasions like in the Ellen Degeneres Show. They sing duets like ‘The Letter’ and ‘Hold I’m Coming’. In American Idol Season 7 finale, Michael Johns and Carly Smithson performed together. Again at Season 8’s first American Idol results show, Michael Johns and Carly Smithson sings “The Letter by Joe Cockery”.
