American Idol Season 8 featured several disco legends of the 1970’s and 80’s. American Idol results show (April 22, 2009) of disco week invited three big names to perform earlier tonight. Among them was Freda Payne who came to sing one of the 70’s greatest disco hits, Band of Gold.
Freda Payne is was very famous during her time as an artist who made great hits. Freda Payne also was an actress in films and musicals. At the peak of her success, Freda Payne also hosted a television talk show of her own. Freda Payne’s younger sister, Scherrie Payne, was also popular as part of The Supremes.

Freda Payne is an American born in Detroit, Michigan of the United States. She was known in a genre of R&B, Soul, Disco and Jazz. Freda Payne started her career as an artist in 1963 and is still actively performing today. Freda Payne is indeed a living legend.
Last night, Freda Payne performed Band of Gold on American Idol Season 8 stage. This week’s theme on Idol is Disco. Freda Payne was invited to sing her famous disco song Band of Gold during the American Idol April 22, 2009 results show wherein there was a double elimination.
