American Idol Disco Night filled the air with 1970′S and 80’s songs. American Idol Season 8 Top 7 performed songs performed great disco hits in American Idol Disco Night (April 21, 2009). The songs performed in American Idol Season 8 episode 31 were popularized by Chaka Khan, Donna Summer, Bee Gees and Earth, Wind & Fire. First to perform was Lil Rounds with Chaka Khan’s I’m Every Woman. Obviously, the judges weren’t impressed. I think Lil’s American Idol disco night performance will be sending her home. Next was Kris Allen with Donna Summer’s She Works Hard for the Money. Simon said Kris’ American Idol disco night performance was fantastic and didn’t sound karaoke. Good for Kris, I did not expect him to fit on disco music but he pulled that off brilliantly.

Third on the line was Danny Gokey singing September by Earth, Wind & Fire. It was a solid disco song performance but Simon called it clumsy. Then it came to Allison Iraheta who also did a Donna Summer disco song – Hot Stuff. Allison Iraheta’s American Idol disco night performance wasn’t as great but good enough to get Simon’s positive reaction.
T’was Adam Lambert’s turn to perform on American Idol disco night. Adam Lambert sung Bee Gees’ If I Can’t Have You. Many doesn’t like Adam for giving out a gayish scream in his performances but this one came out right. Matt Giraud came next with Stayin’ Alive by Bee Gees. Matt G’s American Idol disco night performance was fun, it was good but not original. The last one was Anoop Desia who picked Dim All the Lights by Donna Summer. Most of the judges find it good for the radio but Simon said it was horrible.

After saving Matt Giraud last week, American Idol April 22, 2009 results night will be eliminating two idol contestants.
