Heroes Season 2 comes to the Philippines on Star World

I’ve been watching the marathon run of Heroes Season 1 because I’ve missed a lot of episodes. Heroes Season 2 will invade the Philippine airwaves (Star World cable channel) starting September 6, 2008 at 9pm immediately following “Bionic Woman”. I love sci-fi TV series and “Heroes” is one of my favorites. Other favorites of this author is 4400. Heroes Season 2 packs more action, more superpowers and new characters. I really just can’t wait to watch this show.

Logo of the new Bionic Woman TV series

For those who grew up watching The Six Million Dollar Man (Lee Majors) and The Bionic Woman (Lindsay Wagner) TV series during the 70s, then you’ll surely enjoy watching the new Bionic Woman starring Jaime Sommers. Bionic Woman is scheduled to be aired here in the Philippines starting on September 6 (Saturday) at 8pm. Star World Philippines (cable channel) got the rights to air this show which has been running in the United States since 2007.

In the US, Bionic Woman started showing in June of 2007 on NBC Channel. To summarize the plot of Bionic Woman, Michelle Ryan (Jaime Sommers) met an accident with her boyfriend and got cured using nanotechnology. Her body cells started regenerating faster than normal human beings. She has also acquired super strength. If you love watching science fictions, then the Bionic Woman is the TV show for you.

The Taiwanese government and Filipinos (Pinoys) in Lebanon gave support to the victims of Typhoon Frank by sending money to the Philippines through Philippine government agencies. This show of support has been much-needed especially in Iloilo where Typhoon Frank hit hard.

As a Pinoy, I have always been on these things because whether the victims are from Ilocos Norte or not, it somewhat hurts to see my countrymen suffering.

After Typhoon Helen and Typhoon Igme destroyed millions worth of property in Ilocos Norte, Typhoon Karen followed shortly. Lately, Ilocos Norte has been visited by typhoons more frequently than before. This could be an effect of climate changes experienced worldwide.

Laure Manaudou of France currently holds the world records for the 400 m freestyle (Short Course) and 200 m freestyle (Long Course). Laure Manaudou is currently competing in the Beijing 2008 Olmypics but it seems the buzz about the racy Manaudou pictures/photos (naked pictures, they say) circulating online is affecting her psychologically. Today is the schedule of the automated elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). After a series of debates between lawmakers in the Philippine Congress and Senate (as to the postponement of the election), the election day has finally come and the issue has obviously been resolved (well, at least inside the halls of Congress and Senate).
